Biggest name in Bollywood, Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to promote his state. While organizing a special showing of his movie Paa for Narendra Modi, Mr. Bachchan said “There is bounty of good quality things in Gujarat which must be promoted. I am ready to lend my voice and face for promoting Gujarat tourism.” He also added “The primary purpose of my visit here is for the promotion of my film Paa that deals with insightful issues and I hope Gujarat government makes the film tax free”.
Amitabh presented Modi with a copy of Madhushala, an anthology of poems by his late father Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Narendra Modi showed gratitude towards Mr. Bachchan calling him a ‘mahanayak’ and appreciated his proffer to endorse Gujarat tourism. By the way Bachchan’s decision came just on the day when his friend Amar Singh relinquished from all his posts in the Samajwadi Party. It should be noted that Amar Singh has been a major detractor of Modi and the BJP. Amitabh was a brand ambassador of Uttar Pradesh during SP’s rule, and got him ire of MNS in Mumbai.
