Screening of Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer ‘My Name Is Khan’ was disrupted by several social activist groups including Bajrang Dal, VHP and Shiv Sena activists on Friday by forcing theaters and multiplex owners to shutdown in several parts of India including Sambalpur and Berhampur in Orissa.
The movie was facing opposition over Shah Rukh’s contentious comment on Pakistan cricketers not being considered for IPL, all over the India on Friday. The Shiv Sena even had guaranteed not to permit its showing in Mumbai till Shah Rukh apologizes.
But despite all the protest ‘My Name Is Khan’ was released amid immense security in all parts of India including Mumbai and Orissa, and the best thing is that huge numbers of crowd gathered to watch the film and gave it the opening that most of Shah Rukh Khan movies gets. The SRK fans outnumbered the activists and gave MNIK a flyer in all parts of the world.
